Change Your Belief System!

Anything is possible! If you want to fulfil your dreams you have to believe that you can. Whatever you want to do you have to believe that you can do it; you have to believe that you have the potential to do it; you have to believe that it is possible.

Say: It is possible!

There are two important reasons to believe that you can do and become what you dream of. The first reason is that if somebody else has done it then it proves that it is possible, and if it is possible then you can do it too. The second reason is that if what you want to do has never been done before then it is possible because a lot of other people have done something that was thought to be impossible. It is only a matter of perspective.

When I met my girlfriend I kept insisting that everything was possible as long as you believed it was possible. The second you stop believing you will fail. She kept talking about all the things she could not do and I found several examples of people that have done it; if they can do it then so can she. My girlfriend was not convinced and after a while she got annoyed and gave me an absurd example: – If I want a star, she said and pointed to the star-covered night-sky, then you cannot bring it down to me! She truly believed that it was true that bringing a star down to give her was impossible.

After a bit of silence I just replied, – it is possible! I could see she did not believe me. I have to admit that at that point I had no idea how to make it possible. But after a couple of days I knew how to do it. It was a clear winter evening and the sky was covered with stars and it was extremely cold. I dragged her through frost and snow until we reached the observatory where I had booked a special presentation. I gave her the star that she did not believe I could give her.

Anything is possible; it is a matter of belief and a matter of perspective. If you want to do something then you have to change your belief system to anything is possible. Rationality and logic are toxic to ideas, creativity, dreams and new inventions. Rational and logic people do not believe in anything unless they have seen it with their own eyes. If they have not seen it then it cannot be done.

Reaching your dreams and goals and success is not a matter of logic it is a matter of believing, saying I can and never give up.

How to Be Nice to People: Say Hi!

Smile and greet people!

Hi! © by the.barb

Lately I have been thinking a lot about positive attitude and how important it is to make a good impression on people; it is important to have a nice and likable appearance. My blog is becoming more popular every day and in the wake of success comes unfriendly comments. They make me sad although I know they are not personal.

Today one of my readers told about a bad experience; she had just bought an ice cream and was smiling because it made her happy. On her way out of the shop a girl says in a hostile tone – what are you looking at? Sometimes it can be pretty hard to be friendly, but we have to ignore this. People have their reasons and if they contribute to your life with negativity then get them out of your life again. They are toxic to you and you do not want that.

Meet people, smile and say – hi! You can greet people even without knowing them in person. By greeting people they feel acknowledged; they feel welcome in your world and they feel comfortable. Sometimes nodding your head is enough to show that you acknowledge their presence.

Where I come from we do not talk if we wait at a bus stop together. Even if it is the same people we meet at the bus stop every morning we do not talk. We do not event say hi and a smiling is unthinkable. Some time ago I decided to smile to these people I met every morning and I practiced saying hi and commented the weather and asked how they were doing. Soon I learned that people loved the attention and gave me some attention as well. It felt nice.

We do not need close relationships to greet each other but sometimes greeting can develop into close and meaningful relationships. Practicing greeting I have met a lot of interesting people and some of them have become friends; some of them have become clients; some of them have become collaborators.

You never know where you will meet an opportunity for something you dream of, but you can be prepared for the encounter by greeting people.

How to Be Positive: The Principle Behind

Clever Hans was not so clever after all...

Be positive! A message that I keep repeating and that you hear almost anyone who talks about self-improvement say. Being positive is a message that is repeated in almost any area that you are working on. E.g. Areas like self-esteem; self-confidence; being nice and having success etc. Today I will tell two small stories that demonstrate the positive principle.

Pygmalion was a Greek prince who was fed up with women wasting their lives on pleasure and amusement, so he preferred to live unmarried and single. Pygmalion was a very skilled sculptor and he decided to make a sculpture of the perfect woman. He made the sculpture in ivory and he named her Galatea. The sculpture of Galatea was so beautiful that Pygmalion immediately fell in love with her. He caressed her and gave her beautiful gifts to show his love to her. On the day where the Greeks celebrated Venus, Pygmalion kneeled at the altar of Venus and asked for a woman just like Galatea. Venus heard his wish and she decided to fulfil his request. When Pygmalion came home; he touched his beloved Galatea; and she became warm and alive.

Ovid lived for about 2000 years ago and he wrote this little story that illustrates how you can realise a vision by focusing on the positive aspects about it. Pygmalion could have chosen to focus on the women who wasted their lives but then he would never see anything but women wasting their lives. By focusing on his visions he managed to form his own future. Of course, this is just a story and things does not always turn out the way you want to, but by having a positive attitude to your visions, there is a good chance that you will realise some of them, especially if you can make other people believe in these visions and turn them into a collective image. The next little story will illustrate how something can exist if people believe it does.

Clever Hans was a horse that lived in 1904. Stumpt and Pfungst made some studies of this horse because it was exceptional clever. The owner of Clever Hans, Willhelm von Osten, had trained the horse to answer all kinds of questions; and the horse was never wrong. After some research it turned out that Clever Hans was not so clever, after all, because he could only answer questions for which you already knew the answer. The reason, that Clever Hans always gave the right answers was that he reacted on the body language of the person who put the question. Clever Hans simply finished his answer when the person’s body language reacted to the right answer. The horse did not know this, of course, but that was how it was.

These two stories demonstrate the positive principle and that we create the reality, we live in, ourselves. Both stories show how a dream, a vision or a simple wish can become real if you really want it to. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy that comes true based on resources we have inside ourselves.
